In this article, we will teach you how to install .ntpi firmware on Nothing Mobile devices using the Nothing Flash Tool.

What is .ntpi firmware?
The .ntpi files are the stock firmware files used by Nothing devices. They contain the operating system (OS) and other software necessary for the device to function.
How to install .ntpi firmware using Nothing Flash Tool
Before installing/flashing .ntpi firmware using the Nothing Flash Tool, please make sure to install the necessary drivers and tools.
Prerequisites
- Charge your device to at least 40-50%.
- A working Windows PC/Laptop and a USB Cable.
- Take a complete Backup of your Device.
- Download and install Qualcomm Driver / MediaTek Driver
- Download and extract Nothing Flash Tool.
- Stock Firmware (.ntpi) of the device.

Steps to install .ntpi Firmware using Nothing Flash Tool
- To proceed, locate the “release_user.ntpi” file (firmware) and move it to the Nothing Flash Tool” folder.
- Launch the Nothing Flash Tool by double-clicking on the NothingFlashTool.exe file (found inside the Nothing Flash Tool folder).
- Once the Nothing Flash Tool is launched, Untick the Flash Userdata checkbox.
- Click on the Start button.
- Power off your Nothing device and connect it to your computer via USB cable (Flash Mode).
- Once the Flash Tool detects the device, the flashing process will start automatically.
- Once the flashing process is completed, you will get a “Task Complete” message at the end.

☝Pro Tip: Firmware names differ depending on the device. We are using “release_user.ntpi” as a reference.


☝Pro Tip: Choosing the “Flash Userdata” option will erase all existing userdata on the device.

💡How to Make Devices Enter Flash Mode:
For Qualcomm Devices:
Method 1:
1. Press and Hold the volume up and volume down buttons at the same time.
2. Reboot the device.
3. Flash tool should display “Connected.”
4. Release the buttons.
Method 2:
1. Open a command prompt (cmd) or PowerShell window.
2. Enter the command: adb reboot edl
3. The flash tool should show “Connected.”
For MediaTek Devices:
Method 1:
1. Simultaneously press the “volume up” and “power” buttons.
2. Select “restart” on the screen, initiating the reboot process.
3. The flash tool should display “Connected.”
Method 2:
1. Open a command prompt (cmd) or PowerShell window.
2. Enter the command: adb reboot
3. The flash tool should show “Connected.”


Congratulations! Now, Close the Nothing Flash Tool, disconnect the device from the computer and restart it.
Notes
- Caution: Take a backup of your data before using the Nothing Flash Tool because, during the flashing/installation process, your data will be removed permanently.
- Config Files Parsing Fail Error: If you are encountering the Config Files Parsing Fail Error, it may be because you haven’t moved the firmware (.ntpi) file into the Tool folder. To resolve this issue, simply move the Nothing Mobile Firmware file into the Tool folder and then launch the tool.
